The Polytechnic Institute of Bragança (IPB) is a public Higher Education institution providing technical, scientific and professional knowledge through study, applied research and experimental development. IPB belongs to the Universities of Applied Sciences network (UASNET), whose main objectives include transferability of professional skills and integration of applied research in professional and technological education. Founded in 1983, IPB is presently composed by five schools, 400 teachers and 7000 students. IPB has a successful internationalization programme, with an annual mobility of more than 700 incoming and outgoing students and 200 teaching staff, through the collaboration with European HEIs and with the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries. Recently IPB has renewed its European Charter to include placements through the new IPB Erasmus Consortium Move on Train (www.moveontrain.ipb.pt). In 2011, IPB was awarded the ECTS Label by the European Commission. |
